I hear so many great things about Vancouver, Greenpeace being the only drawback. Hope to make it there some day! I also envy your acquaintance with the whalers of Lofoten.

As a conservationist, a British Columbian (birthplace of Greenpeace, etc etc.), it was heartening to see a defence of sustainable whaling and the right of rural peoples to support themselves without undue deference to Euro-American pieties.
